1. What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?

It may sound cheesy, but I really enjoy learning from and listening to quality-minded professionals. It’s nice to know what other companies are doing and getting ideas about things I’d like to try.

1. What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?

The wide variety of people, perspectives, and experiences that we see every year at QAOTH. I love hearing what new ideas and techniques people are trying out, and of course catching up with old friends.

1. What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?

Software quality is a fast-moving field right now so I’m looking forward to seeing what sorts of improvements in process and tooling we will be looking at this year. I’m also looking forward to all of the invaluable side conversations, debating and provoking great minds in the testing field in order to test (no pun intended) my current beliefs. I always have my mind changed about something, and that alone makes the conference worthwhile for me. Plus, this year we have a new venue!

1. What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?

Being one of the organizers of the conference, my perspective on this might be a bit different from other speakers. This year we’re in a new venue with some unique spaces and so I’m interested in seeing how everyone likes it and how it works out for our talks. Also, covered parking. I repeat: COVERED PARKING. This is winter in Columbus, after all.

Content-wise I am very much looking forward to the two keynote speakers: Louise Elliott and Jess Lancaster.

The one day testing conference, QA or the Highway 2017, is scheduled for February 7th, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio.

There are some excellent sessions and speakers listed for the event.  Like last year, I thought I would reach out to those speaking at the event and ask them a few questions.  A number of the speakers graciously took time out of their schedule to respond.  Leading up to the conference, I will be featuring some of those speakers and their responses.

Today, Rob Bowyer is kicking off the “QA or the Highway 2017 – Speaker Spotlight.”

Better Late Than Never – My Experience at QA or the Highway 2016 – Columbus

Every once in awhile, I have writings that get stuck in a draft format that remain unpublished for far too long.  While QA or the Highway 2017 is less than three weeks away, I thought I would share the raw notes that I took for QA or the Highway 2016.

The conference in 2016 was great and I look forward to this year’s event.  There are a lot of good speakers and subjects lined up and if you haven’t gotten tickets for the 2017 conference yet, I suggest that you do so right away.  Over the next few weeks, I will also be writing some short blog posts spotlighting some of the speakers who will be at QA or the Highway 2017.

QA or the Highway 2016 Recap

Date – February 16, 2016
Location – Columbus State Community College – Columbus, Ohio

Personal Reflections
This was the third conference that I was able to attend with my wife, Mindy.  What better way to spend a conference than a date with your best friend?

It was an excellent day of learning.  The conference was well put together.  The speakers were dynamic and provided excellent content for the sessions that I attended.  I thank all of the individuals and vendors who made this event possible. I am already looking forward to the conference next year.

And now, to the recap.
